“I understand, Major,” Hell Ear said, quickly helping out. The two soon changed into the thugs’ clothes, fully disguised.

“What’s there to panic about? You’re not official Gong family disciples on their register. Just make up an excuse, say the other two got drunk and went off chasing women!” Xu Fei’s words gave the thug an idea, and he nodded eagerly before leading the way.
From the alley, heading east, the three walked for about five minutes until they reached a grand traditional Chinese estate tucked away in the old city.
At the estate’s entrance hung a gilded plaque, inscribed with two bold, flourishing characters: Gong Family!
“We’re here, sirs. When we go in, I’ll handle the talking. You two just stay quiet!” the thug said.
Xu Fei and Hell Ear understood, and soon they arrived at the back entrance.
Fortunately, they were posing as lowly enforcers, not even qualified to enter through the front gate.
Otherwise, they might have been exposed!
“Hey, isn’t that Little Six? I remember you left with four guys. Where’re the other two?” a few men dressed like them asked casually as they entered through the back.
Little Six waved his hand with a helpless look.
“Ugh, don’t even mention those two idiots! I was taking them to collect a debt, and we passed by the Red Blossom Brothel. Those two couldn’t tear themselves away, so I had to bring the others back first!”
Little Six’s quick thinking provided a plausible excuse, avoiding suspicion from the others.
Under Little Six’s lead, Hell Ear and Xu Fei pressed forward until they stopped before a courtyard gate.
Seeing Little Six halt, Xu Fei instinctively wondered if someone had spotted them.
“What’s wrong? Have we been found out?” Xu Fei asked.
Little Six turned around with a wry smile, “Please, sirs, don’t make this harder for me. Beyond this point is the inner courtyard. People like us aren’t allowed in there. I can only take you this far!”
Xu Fei hadn’t expected this turn of events and quickly asked, “Do you know if Ma San Laizi, the one who was captured, is in the inner courtyard?”
