Upon hearing Ma San Laizi’s name, Little Six froze for a moment, then clapped his hands and said, “Ma San Laizi was captured by our Master Gong. Since he’s working for Master Gong, he’s definitely in the inner courtyard. I really can’t get in there!”
It seemed the thug was telling the truth, and Xu Fei didn’t want to press him further, so he waved his hand, “Fine, you can go. But remember, don’t breathe a word about us!”
“Yes, yes, don’t worry, my lips are sealed!” Little Six replied, turning to leave.
At that moment, Xu Fei moved like a cat, silently closing in on Little Six and delivering a swift chop to his neck.
With a thud, Little Six collapsed. Hell Ear, quick on the uptake, said, “I get it, Major. Only the dead keep secrets forever, right?”
Xu Fei nodded with a smile. Time was short, and he couldn’t afford to kill Little Six, as dealing with a body would be too troublesome.
He had only knocked him out, and together with Hell Ear, they quickly dragged him into a nearby empty storeroom.
After handling this, Xu Fei noticed a dense tree growing at the corner of the wall separating them from the inner courtyard.
Using the tree’s thick foliage as cover, Xu Fei swiftly climbed up to get a look at the situation inside.
From the tree, he finally saw the inner courtyard.
Unlike the lax management outside, the inner courtyard was a different world.
Not only was it lavishly decorated, but security was tight, with guards posted every ten steps and sentries every five, almost impenetrable.
From what Little Six had said, it was clear Ma San Laizi had been taken to serve Master Gong directly, which dashed Xu Fei’s hopes of sneaking in to rescue him.
On the bright side, this meant Xu Fei could confront Master Gong face-to-face. If he got the chance to unleash his strength, rescuing Ma San Laizi would be straightforward.
Even if it led to a clash with the Gong family, Xu Fei wasn’t afraid. He might even take Master Gong hostage to secure their escape.
Climbing down from the tree, Xu Fei thought it over and discussed with Hell Ear, “This’ll be a bit tough on you. There are too many guards inside. You’ll need to create a distraction to draw their attention, got it?”
From his higher vantage point, Xu Fei had already surveyed the terrain. The Gong estate was a traditional Chinese garden, filled with pavilions and towers.
With Hell Ear’s skills, if he focused on avoiding direct combat, he could probably run circles around the guards for an entire day.
Hell Ear nodded solemnly, patting his chest with confidence, “Don’t worry, Major. I’ve been sitting in front of computers all day, feeling stiff. This is a perfect chance to stretch my legs!”
With that, Hell Ear sprang into action.
He easily vaulted over the wall and spotted two guards stationed at the base of the wall nearby.
Creating a distraction required finesse. If Hell Ear only made a small noise and ran, likely only those two would chase him.
So, he jumped right in front of them, startling them both.
“Hm? Who’s there?”
“Hmph! Someone here to take your sorry lives!”
Hell Ear let out a loud laugh, then swiftly kicked one guard unconscious before leaping back over the wall and vanishing.
