Talented Medical Son-in-law Chapter 1783

In Xu Fei’s X-ray vision, the flat path ahead vanished, replaced by a set of ascending stairs.

But here, Xu Fei halted his steps.

What he feared wasn’t the stairs, but the group of creatures lurking in the dark doorway.

“That shape… bats? Good grief, lucky I have X-ray vision, or rushing in blindly could’ve been disastrous!”

Through his X-ray vision, Xu Fei confirmed that the creatures with large wings hanging upside down in the doorway were, as expected, bats.

Of course, Xu Fei wouldn’t equate these bats with the ordinary ones outside.

To be safe, he followed the same method as before.

He enveloped himself in true qi, then released his yang energy, forming two layers of protection.

At this point, Xu Fei was practically encased in a golden bell shield.

With that, he strode confidently into the dark doorway.

No sooner had he entered than a massive swarm of bats, as if drawn by his scent, surrounded him in a dark, suffocating mass.

In such a confined space, with his vision completely blocked, it seemed Xu Fei was doomed.

But in the end, it was the bats that met their downfall.

Many of them, eager to strike first, perched on Xu Fei’s head or shoulders, baring sharp fangs and biting down.

The result? These bloodthirsty creatures shattered their teeth, screeching in agony as they fled!

Xu Fei smirked, unsurprised at dispatching the swarm without effort.

As the bats scattered, he grabbed the slowest one, gripping it tightly in one hand.

Then he picked up the broken fangs from the ground, comparing them to the ones in the bat’s mouth.

The longest of these bats’ fangs were an astonishing ten-plus centimetres!

Had Xu Fei not been prepared, or if Ma Sanlaizi had still been with him, the old man might’ve been riddled with holes like a wasp’s nest!

Xu Fei passed through the long doorway, climbed dozens of steps, and arrived at a new area.

Looking up, he saw towering pillars, each over ten metres high, and a domed ceiling adorned with exquisite murals.

But, as before, many of the murals had been deliberately destroyed.

Recalling the earlier terrain, Xu Fei figured the entry point from the Gong family was a small underground chamber.

This place, he estimated, was likely the main hall of this mysterious underground palace.

Near a dilapidated pavilion, Xu Fei noticed that even deep underground, the area was overgrown with weeds and vines.

This added an extra layer of mystique to the underground palace.

“Hm? Movement!”

Xu Fei detected something unusual and turned to look, only to see a pack of about a dozen white wolves charging toward him!

These wolves were massive, easily three to four metres long, and looked ferocious!

“Good grief, I’ve stumbled into a wolf den!”

With no other choice, Xu Fei prepared for battle, silver needles already ready in his sleeve.

The wolf pack surged forward in an instant, cleverly splitting into several directions to encircle Xu Fei.

Wolves, Xu Fei knew, were apex predators in the food chain.

Thus, he dared not underestimate these beasts.
