It seemed Xu Fei had a suspicion but didn’t dare confirm it. While he hesitated, the enemy launched an attack.
A massive cyan-winged bird screeched as it flew out from the building, charging straight at Xu Fei.
Its wings spanned over ten metres, resembling an exaggerated patrol plane in the sky.
Even more striking was the bird’s incredibly tough beak.
As it swooped down, Xu Fei not only dodged the aerial assault with his agility but also tested it with his silver needles.
To his shock, the needles couldn’t pierce the bird at all.
“This… this thing’s way too tough!” Xu Fei couldn’t help but grumble. Realising he was outmatched, he resorted to frantic evasion.
Using his nimble movements, he kept dodging and weaving around the giant bird.
Though the bird’s presence was intimidating, Xu Fei quickly noticed a flaw after a few exchanges.
Its movements were far too clumsy and rigid.
On several occasions, Xu Fei barely dodged by slipping to an angle that should have been perfect for the bird to strike.
If it had just turned its head, Xu Fei would’ve been the one injured.
But those moments never came, they were just Xu Fei’s assumptions.
He believed a creature like this should have some intelligence, driven by hunting instincts.
Yet, so far, Xu Fei had shifted from passive defence to actively toying with the cyan-winged bird, almost as if it were a game.
“Something’s off, this thing’s trying to stall me!” Xu Fei realised after easily dodging another attack.
He glanced inside the room and spotted a samurai sword enshrined, clearly an extraordinary weapon.
Against a massive, air-dominating creature like this, Xu Fei’s silver needles were somewhat inadequate.
It wasn’t that they were entirely useless, but relying solely on them would take too long to land a killing blow.
So, Xu Fei decisively changed tactics.
As the bird’s screech echoed again, Xu Fei didn’t dodge this time. Instead, he dashed into the room to grab the samurai sword.
The cyan-winged bird swooped down, but Xu Fei seized the sword before it could reach him.
In an instant, the yang energy within Xu Fei surged, enveloping the blade completely.
The samurai sword, as if enchanted, glowed golden when Xu Fei drew it.
“You’ve been pestering me long enough, beast!” Xu Fei shouted, thrusting the sword forward.
As the bird dove, it ran straight into the blade, which sliced it open from chest to belly.
Thud!
The cyan-winged bird crashed to the ground, motionless, clearly dead.
But before Xu Fei could relax, a deafening roar erupted.
Turning toward the sound, Xu Fei saw a colossal bear, nearly ten metres tall, charging at him on all fours.
“What… did I stumble into a zoo or something?” Xu Fei muttered, exasperated.
But with battle imminent, he had no time to think, he had to fight.
