The dual protection of Yang energy and true qi was instantly activated, its strength further enhanced.
After all, without yet engaging, Xu Fei didn’t know if he could withstand a single slap from this mountain-like beast.
“Roar!”
The giant bear charged closer, the ground seemingly trembling under its steps.
Then, it swung a paw directly at him, the gust it unleashed nearly toppling nearby trees.
Xu Fei had no time to observe his surroundings. He quickly raised his long sword to meet the attack.
“Clang!”
The heavy bear paw came down, and as Xu Fei’s sword met it, he felt as though a mountain was pressing upon him.
Fortunately, Xu Fei’s vast combat experience kicked in. Realising he couldn’t block it head-on, he decisively chose to redirect the force.
He shifted his feet to change direction, then exerted a sudden burst of strength to push the bear’s arm in the opposite direction.
“Good grief, how am I supposed to fight this thing?”
Xu Fei was already slightly out of breath. Just one exchange had brought immense pressure.
The bear, heedless of this, charged again, like a fully powered armoured tank.
Even if Xu Fei tried to take cover in a nearby house, the bear was like a god of destruction.
The wooden cabin was no different from a child’s toy before it, torn to pieces in a few swipes.
For the next while, Xu Fei and the bear played a game of cat and mouse.
Though the bear’s strength was undoubtedly maxed out, its agility, thankfully, was lacking.
Xu Fei could only rely on his nimble footwork to keep dodging the bear.
But this wasn’t a long-term strategy.
Each time the bear attacked, Xu Fei had to use the surrounding terrain for cover to manage a dodge.
The bear’s god-like destructive power was no exaggeration. After some time of fighting, Xu Fei noticed that the surrounding wooden cabins, large trees, and even boulders had all been smashed by the bear.
In other words, Xu Fei was now completely without cover.
The next time the bear attacked, he could no longer evade in the same way!
“Ugh… this thing’s pressure is really something else, but luckily, I’m done!”
Xu Fei wiped the sweat from his forehead. His plan to buy time had just been completed.
Though it looked like he was constantly fleeing, Xu Fei wasn’t aimlessly running like a headless fly.
While escaping, he had scattered his silver needles across the ground, silently burying them in the soil.
After this prolonged chase, the area within a ten-metre radius was now entirely littered with Xu Fei’s hidden needles.
“Next, it’s time for you, beast, to taste some pain!”
This time, Xu Fei stood his ground, slowly releasing his Yang energy and channelling it into the hollow silver needles.
The bear, driven by its primal, impulsive instincts, continued its charge. Using both hands and feet, it moved startlingly fast, nearly reaching Xu Fei.
“Feel the sting of ten thousand needles piercing your heart!”
Xu Fei didn’t flee. Instead, as the bear charged to the perfect distance, he finally triggered the trap he had set.
