“Strange, why hasn’t there been any result after so long?”
Kawashima Isao was muttering to himself outside when suddenly he noticed the leaves in the forest rustling. Moments later, the pack of beasts emerged, slowly advancing towards him.
“Excellent, my children! I knew you could do it!”
When Kawashima Isao saw one of the pythons tightly coiled around Xu Fei, bringing the seemingly unconscious man to him, he was visibly delighted.
He could even feel the Yin Force within his body beginning to stir with excitement.
Kawashima Isao reached out to pat the python’s head, and the snake placed Xu Fei on the nearby clearing.
Ever since Kawashima Isao discovered this underground temple and absorbed all the Yin Force contained within the statue, he felt as though the wheel of his destiny had begun to turn.
Even when he had left his homeland, Kawashima Isao had merely played a minor role.
His task, assigned by his family, was simply to find a path, to locate the route to the temple.
Despite encountering Xu Fei and the minor skirmishes over the Blood-Burning Pill, Kawashima Isao had tirelessly persevered and found this place.
Initially, he thought his mission was complete, but who could have imagined that the temple’s legacy would ultimately choose him!
This revelation transformed Kawashima Isao’s self-perception, he was no longer a mere nobody but a prodigy destined to alter his family’s fate!
“I’ve finally done it!”
Overcome with joy, Kawashima Isao shouted towards the ceiling above, but at that very moment, a voice, eerie as a spectre, rang in his ears.
“Done what?”
The voice was all too familiar to Kawashima Isao, it was unmistakably Xu Fei’s!
“Damn it! Wasn’t that guy unconscious? How could…”
Before Kawashima Isao could register his shock, he noticed something unusual about the summoned beast pack surrounding him.
These beasts were formed from the Yin Force within his own body, a defensive array left behind by the temple’s original builders.
Having inherited the temple’s legacy, Kawashima Isao considered himself the temple’s master. He had planned to lure Xu Fei here and then use the temple’s arrays to kill him.
This would allow him to achieve his ultimate goal of absorbing the Yang Force within Xu Fei’s body.
As Xu Fei had previously deduced, in terms of raw strength, Kawashima Isao was no match for him.
Kawashima Isao’s current reliance was on the Yin Force within him and the arrays he could command.
Though the beasts appeared ferocious, their attack methods were relatively simplistic.
They inflicted wounds on enemies and injected Yin Force, aiming to kill or control.
Thus, the beast pack was essentially composed of clusters of Yin Force.
The Yang Force seeds Xu Fei had previously embedded in the beasts contained only a small amount of power.
This ensured that the Yin and Yang forces could not achieve a perfect balance.
Once Xu Fei triggered the encapsulated Yang Force seeds, they would detonate!
By the time Kawashima Isao realised what was happening, his vision was already engulfed by dazzling bursts of light.
