Ichiro Kawashima didn’t believe a word of what Xu Fei said.
“Me, at death’s door? If you’re so powerful, why did you scurry away like a coward just now?”
Though Xu Fei had outsmarted him once before, Ichiro Kawashima was now brimming with confidence.
In his mind, the entire underground temple was under his control, how could he possibly lose!
Perhaps because of this confidence, Ichiro Kawashima couldn’t help but blurt out his thoughts.
“You think you can fool me again? Stop pretending to be something you’re not! I’m still the master of this temple!”
Xu Fei seemed to have anticipated this response, a faint, indifferent smile on his face.
“You think you’re still the master of this temple? Then prove it to me!”
Ichiro Kawashima was ready, letting out a cold laugh.
“Prove it? Fine, I’ll show you! This treasure has been waiting for you long enough!”
With that, Ichiro Kawashima tore open his clothes, and a stream-like flow of black yin energy slowly poured onto the ground.
Xu Fei noticed the arrays on the floor in front of him.
These arrays had been triggered by Ichiro Kawashima to deal with him when he first arrived.
Logically, they should have been deactivated, so Xu Fei couldn’t quite understand what Ichiro Kawashima was doing now.
Soon, Ichiro Kawashima released a large amount of yin energy from his body, completely saturating the floor of the underground palace.
Then, the corners of Ichiro Kawashima’s mouth curled upward, looking very smug.
He could see the puzzled expression on Xu Fei’s face, which meant he had finally outwitted Xu Fei in terms of strategy.
“Ichiro Kawashima respectfully welcomes Lord Yamata!”
Ichiro Kawashima clasped his hands together, kneeling devoutly on the ground, seemingly performing some mysterious ritual.
“You might find it strange, wondering why I’m still using arrays that have already been triggered, right?”
“You’ll understand once you meet Lord Yamata!”
After Ichiro Kawashima finished speaking, the entire floor had transformed, looking as if an underground fountain was ceaselessly surging outward.
More and more black water splashed up, nearly flooding the entire underground temple.
Seeing this, Xu Fei nimbly leaped onto a nearby large tree with a quick push of his feet.
At that moment, a heart-wrenching wail echoed from the depths, as if from an abyss.
Then, an enormous python emerged from the centre of the black water.
This snake was completely different from the beast hordes Ichiro Kawashima had controlled earlier.
Those were merely ordinary beasts, summoned through the arrays.
But the creature now before Xu Fei was not only far larger, it had eight heads!
Each head opened its gaping, bloodthirsty maw with a ferocious expression, as if ravenous with hunger.
“Hahaha! Scared stiff, aren’t you, kid? Stay put and be a sacrifice for Lord Yamata!”
Ichiro Kawashima was so smug his tail was practically wagging in the air. He couldn’t wait to see Lord Yamata, whom he had summoned, swallow Xu Fei in one gulp.
Xu Fei, watching the giant python heads charging toward him, couldn’t help but break out in a slight cold sweat.
