As if understanding Kawashima Ichio’s words, the Orochi raised its head, let out a hiss, and lunged downwards.
This speed was even faster than when it had chased Xu Fei. Cornered against the wall, Xu Fei believed he had no chance of escape.
“Is this it? What a pity!”
Xu Fei murmured to himself, then slightly closed his eyes.
Even Kawashima Ichio could tell this guy had given up resisting.
Yet, at that moment, an unexpected twist occurred.
After closing his eyes, Xu Fei waited for a long time but felt no searing pain.
He found it odd, and even stranger was the sudden, overpowering stench that filled the air before him.
Unable to bear it, Xu Fei finally opened his eyes, only to see the once ferocious Yamata no Orochi now docilely coiled at his feet.
Its gentle, almost affectionate demeanour was like that of Xu Fei’s pet.
“Hm? What’s going on?”
Xu Fei was puzzled but cautiously reached out to touch the Orochi’s head.
Not only did it not resist, but it seemed to enjoy it, even extending its tongue to lick Xu Fei’s hand.
