An hour and a half later, the welcome meal came to an end. The family ate to their hearts’ content, but Xu Fei still hadn’t sorted out a place to stay in Beijing. So, he decided to book the most luxurious presidential suite at a five-star hotel in Wangjing Gaozuo for Lin Qingxue and Lele.
Having not seen his family in a while, Xu Fei spent the entire day with them, wandering through malls and nearby attractions. It wasn’t until nightfall that he finally brought Lin Qingxue and Lele back to the hotel room.
Once Lele had fallen asleep, Xu Fei didn’t go to bed. Instead, he got up and stepped outside. This puzzled Lin Qingxue, who was sleeping on the other side. She quickly got up, chased after him, grabbed his arm, and asked, “What’s wrong, darling? It’s so late, can’t whatever it is wait until tomorrow?”
At that moment, the indifference on Xu Fei’s face vanished, replaced by a sly, triumphant grin. He pulled Lin Qingxue into his arms, leaned close to her ear, and whispered tenderly, “It’s been a month since we’ve seen each other. What do you think we’re about to do?”
Lin Qingxue immediately understood, her face flushing as she playfully scolded, “You’re awful!”
No sooner had she spoken than Xu Fei scooped her up and carried her to the bed. Fortunately, the presidential suite he’d booked had three separate bedrooms, practically a home in itself.
That night, Xu Fei slept soundly. It wasn’t until the sun rose and its rays streamed through the window that he slowly woke up. Lin Qingxue was already up, washed, and sitting by the bed, combing her hair.
Seeing Xu Fei open his eyes, she smiled and said, “Morning, darling. You’re awake?”
Perhaps feeling the rare joy of family life, Xu Fei, unusually, wanted to linger in bed. He rolled over to the other side and mumbled, “Sweetheart, let me sleep a bit longer!”
Lin Qingxue chuckled softly. “I’d be fine with that, but someone else might not agree!”
Before she could finish, Lele bounded onto the bed, bouncing up and down, shouting, “Daddy, get up!”
Seeing this little whirlwind wreaking havoc at his bedside, Xu Fei knew he had no choice but to get up. Just then, his phone suddenly rang.
