“Hey, mate, you’re back, come and have some tasty grub with us!”
Outside, a few security guards on duty saw Xu Fei return, thinking he was one of their mates.
But as soon as Xu Fei approached, he kicked over the two blokes with a swift couple of boots, then strode towards the inner door.
Now Xu Fei understood, it seemed this so-called Brother Hao had arranged quite a few bodyguards.
But now, a bit too chuffed with himself, he thought he was in no danger, so he’d sent all his close bodyguards packing.
Otherwise, Xu Fei wouldn’t have been handed such a golden opportunity.
Xu Fei was here to rescue someone, so how could he possibly let such a chance slip through his fingers?
Inside the room, Brother Hao was absolutely buzzing with excitement.
You see, he’d gone to great lengths to win over Hua Ling, and his dream was finally within reach.
But just as he reached out with his wicked hands, there was a massive crash behind him, the door had been kicked open from the outside.
“Oi, are you some kind of nutter? Didn’t I tell you lot to wait outside?”
Since Xu Fei was still wearing the clothes of a close bodyguard, Brother Hao mistook him for one of his own.
Xu Fei stormed in with big strides, didn’t say a word, and with another kick, sent Brother Hao sprawling, then stomped hard on his face.
“Open your eyes wide and have a good look at who your granddad is!”
Brother Hao, reeling from the pain of that kick, lay on the floor and squinted, only to realise Xu Fei was a stranger.
Pointing at him, Brother Hao stammered, “You… who the hell are you? I’ve never seen you before! Oi, where are the rest of my men?!”
Hearing Brother Hao’s incessant shouting, Xu Fei sneered, grabbed him by the hair, and dragged him to the doorway.
Brother Hao, dragged all the way, felt like his hair was being ripped out, but what he couldn’t stomach even more was this: scattered across the ground outside were several of his hand-picked bodyguards, all laid out.
“They’ve already been sent packing by me, now it’s time to settle your account, eh?”
With that, Xu Fei didn’t care a jot, letting Brother Hao scream his lungs out, and once again dragged him back by the hair.
“Big brother, big brother, please, have some mercy… let me go! If you let me off this time, I swear when I get back, I’ll make it worth your while!”
Brother Hao, the sort who usually hung about street corners, was a master at reading people.
His close bodyguards were, after all, ex-military types, far tougher than your average Joe.
But they’d all been floored by Xu Fei, and with just a wall between him and the outside, Brother Hao hadn’t heard a peep, which meant Xu Fei’s fighting skills were leagues above those hired guards.
The fight between them couldn’t even be called a scrap, it was a complete rout.
So Brother Hao quickly reckoned he had no chance of getting out of this, dropped his high-and-mighty act, and started grovelling and apologising to Xu Fei.
“Wait for you to thank me properly? If I let you go that easily, I reckon what I’d get isn’t thanks but a proper revenge, right?”
Xu Fei wasn’t a three-year-old, how could he be fooled by Brother Hao’s empty words?
