“As I suspected, you didn’t read it carefully, and after all this time, with the contract in their hands, you wouldn’t even know if they slipped in some hidden, unfair clauses.”
The more Lin Qingxue spoke, the more frightened Hua Ling became, as she realised everything Lin Qingxue said was spot on.
“Then, what should I do, Sister Xue? You have to help me, I didn’t understand any of this back then!”
Hua Ling began to panic, nearly on the verge of tears by the end.
Lin Qingxue reached out, gently held Hua Ling’s hand, and patted her shoulder to comfort her.
“Don’t worry, with us here, that guy won’t get his way. It’s late now, go upstairs and get a good night’s sleep to recharge, we’ll talk more tomorrow!”
Hua Ling nodded, was shown to the guest room by Lin Qingxue, and soon fell asleep.
Xu Fei and Lin Qingxue later took Lele back to their room to sleep as well.

This move was especially effective on signed artists like Hua Ling, almost foolproof.
Though Hua Ling was now a big star, she had been scouted by companies like Brother Hao’s, bought at a low price.
The money spent was small, but for someone like Hua Ling back then, it seemed substantial, and the contract was already loaded with all sorts of clauses.
If one of the signed talents turned out to be a star like Hua Ling, the company could recoup its investment and make a fortune.
And if Hua Ling rebelled, no problem, the contract clearly stated that unless Brother Hao agreed, breaching it would mean paying an astronomical penalty!

The subordinate nearby looked smug, but Brother Hao, more seasoned, suddenly thought of something and quickly said.
