“Open your damn eyes and take a good look. Remember this girl’s name—she’s mine now. You know what to do, right?”
Qian Jiahang’s words were met with eager nods from everyone in the office.
He swaggered out, empty-handed, prompting Bai Feng’s puzzled question.
“Where are the forms and documents I gave you?”
Qian Jiahang flashed a confident smile. “No need to worry. There were over twenty people ahead of you, but I’ve already jumped the queue and submitted your stuff.”
“It’ll take a bit for them to process, since you’re an international student. It’s hot out here—why don’t we head upstairs and sit?”
He pointed to an office upstairs, but Bai Feng, surprised, asked, “Isn’t that a teacher’s office? Can you just take people in there?”
Her question only boosted his confidence.
“Didn’t my card say I’m the student council president? I’m tight with the teachers.”
“Come on up with me. You can have some water, enjoy the air-con, and avoid this heat!”
He wasn’t wrong. Bai Feng, exhausted and parched from the long wait, considered his earlier help on the plane and the short distance to the office.
After weighing it, she nodded and followed him upstairs.
Qian Jiahang smirked, thrilled at how quickly his plan was working.
He strolled in like he owned the place.
“Sit, I’ll get you some tea!”
He gestured to a sofa, then busied himself preparing tea.
As Bai Feng curiously scanned the room’s decor, Qian Jiahang discreetly slipped a pill from his pocket into a cup of water.
The pill dissolved instantly. Ensuring both cups looked identical, he handed one to her.
“You must be thirsty after waiting so long. Have a drink. Once this is sorted, I’ll take you for a nice meal!”
His enthusiasm made Bai Feng feel a tad shy.
Thirsty, she took the tea and gulped down several mouthfuls without hesitation.
Seeing her drink, Qian Jiahang’s excitement surged.
“No bed, but the sofa’ll be comfy enough later!”
He was already scheming his sordid plan.
Meanwhile, Xu Fei, having trailed the teacher in circles, finally caught on.
“Hm? Haven’t we passed this building before?”
The teacher, flustered by Xu Fei’s question, stammered, unable to respond.
They were alone now, so Xu Fei dropped the act, tossing the files to the ground.
Grabbing the teacher’s collar, he hoisted him up. “Spill it—who sent you? Was it Qian Jiahang?”
The teacher hadn’t expected Xu Fei to not only suspect Qian Jiahang but know his name.
Panicked, he broke and confessed everything.
