Talented Medical Son-in-law Chapter 1953

As they continued their pursuit, Xu Fei saw the double’s black car vanish into the darkness.

He immediately pressed the activation button on the Hell’s Ear app on his phone.

The next second, a deafening boom erupted as the bomb tore the scrapped black car to pieces, causing the dozen or so pursuing cars to screech to a halt.

“Hold on, be careful! Go check what happened!”

At the command, several men from the convoy rushed forward. When they arrived, they found a scene of utter chaos: amidst roaring flames, a charred black sedan and a body burnt to cinders.

“Boss! Looks like the guy crashed and got burned to death!”

The lead henchmen reported the situation, but the team leader, skeptical, hurried over.

Upon seeing the blazing fire and the blackened corpse, his doubts began to waver.

“Let’s go, take it back. We can’t return empty-handed!”

With a wave of the leader’s hand, his men grabbed fire extinguishers to douse the flames, then bagged the charred corpse and took it away.

Once the convoy had left, Xu Fei spoke to the double again.

“Your mission’s complete. You can take off the mask and return home safely with your real identity.”

The double, thrilled at the news, exclaimed, “That’s great, Lord Jun! Be careful out here. I’m heading back to report to Officer Bai Zhan!”

The double tore off the human-skin mask, tossed it out the window into the river, and drove off.

“I hope this really fools the Kawashima family,” Xu Fei muttered to himself before returning to the apartment.

By the riverside where the double’s car had passed, a fisherman sat.

He’d been out all day with no catch. As night deepened and he prepared to leave, he noticed something in the faint light, seemingly caught on his line.

“Blimey! After waiting all day, finally a bite!”

Excited, the fisherman reeled in his line, only to find it wasn’t a fish but a soft, white, unidentified object.

“Damn it! Someone’s chucked rubbish here again. What a letdown!”

His last shred of hope shattered, the fisherman angrily threw the white object to the ground, stomped on it twice, then grabbed his bucket and rod and stormed off.

That night, the Kawashima family, particularly the faction pushing for change, was anything but calm.

At the leader’s call, nearly everyone gathered.

The reason was clear: a charred corpse lay in the centre of the hall!
