Kawashima Miki had noticed Xu Fei’s presence from the start.
Though her cultivation level was low, cultivators could sense each other to some degree.
Since Xu Fei hadn’t actively suppressed his true qi fluctuations earlier, Miki had picked up on them.
Having sensed Xu Fei, she glanced at him a few times, only to find him looking back at her.
This made Miki uncomfortable. Her “ice queen” reputation wasn’t for nothing.
She was used to observing others, not being actively watched herself, which annoyed her.
And now, she noticed Xu Fei was actually moving toward her.
Miki turned her head away, hoping to avoid him, thinking that if she faced away, he’d stop staring.
But she misunderstood. Xu Fei wasn’t approaching her for her looks but to deliberately get close.
Even if Miki had walked away, Xu Fei would’ve followed, let alone just turning her back.
So, Xu Fei, drink in hand, sat down beside her. But as he approached, he saw her turn away.
He instantly realised Miki didn’t want to talk, which stumped him.
He was skilled in many things, but striking up a conversation with a girl wasn’t one of them, especially when Miki seemed to dislike him before they’d even spoken.
So, Xu Fei sat there awkwardly, racking his brain for a topic.
This only made Miki more exasperated. “This clueless blockhead, you’ve sat down, so just say something! How am I supposed to reject you and leave if you don’t?”
The two sat in awkward silence for ages until Miki finally broke it.
But she’d never initiate a conversation with Xu Fei, so her way of ending the awkwardness was to stand up and leave.
“She’s just walking off? Well… I’ll follow and see what happens!”
Watching Miki leave, Xu Fei hesitated briefly but decided to trail her.
That moment’s hesitation created a gap between them.
When Miki sensed Xu Fei following, her steps quickened instinctively.
“Damn it! Is this guy some kind of creep? Should I call the police?”
Miki suddenly regretted her recent argument with her father.
Back then, Kawashima Yosuke wanted to assign bodyguards for her at school, but she refused.
She thought it’d be weird to be the only student with bodyguards when everyone else seemed normal, leading to a big fight with her father.
Now, speeding up, Miki regretted it deeply, but she had no idea worse regrets were coming.
Hurrying along, Miki soon reached a small gate near a quiet part of the campus.
Beyond it was a secluded alley, rarely used by students.
But today, desperate to shake off the “stalker” behind her, Miki didn’t think twice and headed straight through the gate.
