Far from feeling shortchanged, Miki Kawashima saw this as evidence their relationship had deepened.
“Um… did you change my clothes last night?”
Hearing this, Xu Fei realised she’d misunderstood and quickly explained what happened.
“Your clothes were ruined, I didn’t take advantage of you!”
Seeing his earnest explanation, Miki felt a slight pang of disappointment but also recognised this proved Xu Fei was trustworthy.
“It’s fine, it’s my fault for drinking too much. But I can’t go back in a bathrobe. Could you buy me some clothes?”
Xu Fei frowned at her words.
“Hm? Why does that sound so familiar?”
But he nodded, agreeing, and went to a nearby shop to buy her an outfit.
After Miki changed, she grinned at Xu Fei and said, “If you’re free today, I’ll take you to meet my father.”
This was exactly what Xu Fei had been hoping for, so he nodded eagerly.
“Alright, let me use the bathroom, then we’ll head out!”
Xu Fei casually went to the restroom, leaving his phone behind.
While he was gone, Bai Feng, who hadn’t heard from him, sent a text: “Brother Fei, when are you coming back?”
As a woman, Miki’s instincts kicked in, sensing something off.
She swiftly checked Xu Fei’s chat history with Bai Feng.
Though the messages showed closeness, they didn’t prove anything definitive.
Miki tucked her suspicions away, planning to find another chance to uncover who this Bai Feng was.
After placing Xu Fei’s phone back, he returned.
Then, Xu Fei followed Miki toward their destination.
At dawn, the group tasked with protecting Miki finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“What are you standing around for? Hurry back and report!”
The leader snapped, and the rest nodded, speeding off in their van.
They returned before Xu Fei and Miki, immediately reporting all the details to Yosuke Kawashima.
Yosuke was furious upon hearing the news.
“What? My daughter’s been with a strange man? Why are you only telling me this now?”
“Master, we could’ve reported sooner, but the young lady ordered us to stand guard until dawn before returning, so…”
Before he could finish, Yosuke slapped him hard.
“Useless! My daughter fools you with a few words, and you think you can handle big tasks?”
“Don’t just stand there! Find my daughter’s whereabouts, dig three feet deep if you have to!”
