Kawashima Yosuke waved his hand and said, “No rush. Not everyone in the clan is here yet, Youmei’s off handling other matters.”
“Once everyone’s gathered, we’ll hold a clan meeting to clarify your identity, so there won’t be any misunderstandings.”
Xu Fei nodded and left the room with Kawashima Miki.
“You alright? My father’s like that, not exactly likeable!”
Miki was clearly worried that Xu Fei, meeting someone like Kawashima Yosuke for the first time, might genuinely be intimidated.
In truth, Xu Fei had been acting the whole time, so he smiled and replied, “I’m fine, don’t worry about me. I can understand your father’s feelings, who wouldn’t be protective with a precious daughter like you?”
His words struck a chord with Miki, who shyly gave Xu Fei a light push before running off. “Ugh, I’m done with you!”
Xu Fei knew she was just teasing, so he quickly chased after her.
The two laughed and chased each other around the Kawashima clan’s grounds.
Miki, familiar with the complex layout, had the upper hand in their playful pursuit, while Xu Fei, feeling the crisis had passed, temporarily turned off his clairvoyant vision.
In this flirtatious chase, Miki was in the lead.
Just as Miki vanished behind a door, Xu Fei, rushing to catch up, collided with a stranger.
The person had short, neat hair and a masculine style of dress, but Xu Fei’s instincts told him she was definitely a woman.
Feeling a bit embarrassed for bumping into her, Xu Fei immediately apologised.
But for some reason, she kept staring at him, her clear eyes seeming to pierce through his very soul.
Miki, noticing Xu Fei hadn’t followed, came back and saw him standing there with the stranger.
“What’s going on?”
Xu Fei quickly explained what happened. “I don’t know, do you know her? She didn’t even give me a chance to apologise, just kept staring at me, it’s kind of creepy!”
Miki made a shushing gesture, then politely addressed the stranger. “Sorry, senpai, he’s my boyfriend, new around here, and accidentally bumped into you. You okay?”
Only then did the woman retract her intense gaze, replying courteously, “No worries, Miss, I’m fine.”
With that, she turned and left.
Once she was gone, Miki explained to Xu Fei, “Even if you don’t know her now, you’ll definitely meet her later, because she’s the biological sister of that Kawashima Ichifu you mentioned!”
That explained why she’d been staring at him so intently.
Xu Fei glanced back, noticing that the direction she’d come from led straight to Kawashima Yosuke’s room.
