The next day, Tawana’s first solo concert in Eastcliff was about to begin.
The traffic authorities had already issued a notice: starting this afternoon, Eastcliff’s roads would face severe congestion. The National Sports Centre was already packed to the brim.
Fans from across the country, and even the world, were converging on the venue, with countless influencers from around the globe livestreaming the event.
Tawana, a seasoned performer, was unusually nervous before the show.
This wasn’t just the largest venue in China, it was also her first time performing alongside Charlie wade, a thrill she couldn’t put into words.
Stephanie, equally accustomed to big stages, was just as anxious as Tawana.
The audience began filing in, with an hour and a half until the show officially started.
Tawana and Stephanie shared a dressing room, whispering to each other.
Tawana asked Stephanie, “Is the final show of your farewell tour here too?”
“Yes,” Stephanie nodded, smiling, “The venue was booked months ago, right here.”
Tawana asked, “How long until then?”
Stephanie replied, “About forty-something days.”
Tawana grabbed her phone, flipped to the calendar, and calculated, “I shouldn’t be too busy then, want to consider inviting me as a guest?”
“You’d do that?!” Stephanie asked, her face lighting up with surprise.
Tawana’s status in the music world was unrivalled, no one had ever heard of her guesting at a concert, and Stephanie hadn’t dared to dream of it.
But she hadn’t expected Tawana to offer herself up, a massive honour in the industry.
Quickly catching on, Stephanie grinned and teased, “Tawana, are you volunteering to be my guest, or are you just looking for a chance to see Brother Charlie wade?”
Tawana didn’t hide it, giggling, “Both, of course! And like you said, Eastcliff’s your farewell tour’s last stop, being a guest at your final show would be my privilege too.”
Stephanie nodded with a smile, “Alright! You’ll be my guest performer then!”
Tawana couldn’t hide her excitement, “Can we get Mr. Wade to dance with us again that day?”
Stephanie shook her head, “Not that day, it’s Brother Charlie wade’s birthday. If he comes to my concert, he’ll probably be with his wife.”
“What?” Tawana was stunned, “It’s Mr. Wade’s birthday? And he’s coming with his wife?”
Stephanie laughed, “Last time I held a concert in Aurous Hill, I picked his birthday too, and he came with his wife then as well.”
Tawana sighed, “He can’t come alone? Bringing his wife too, doesn’t he know how you feel about him?”
Stephanie covered her mouth, chuckling, “It wasn’t just his wife, a bunch of his admirers came too. I told you, Brother Charlie wade’s really popular, young women who meet him can’t help but fall for him.”
The two chatted for a while, their nerves settling considerably.
With twenty minutes left on the countdown, a staff member knocked, “Miss Sweet, it’s almost time to go on, you can start getting ready.”
Tawana nodded and turned to Stephanie, “Get ready to surprise everyone when you go up!”
Stephanie smiled back, “Good luck!”
…
At that moment, Charlie wade, wearing a staff badge, was wandering near the stage’s side.
His “feng shui consultant” gig was just a cover, tonight, aside from one song where he’d change and join the dancers, he had no other duties.
