Right now, she wanted nothing more than to throw herself into Charlie wade’s arms, sob her heart out, and kiss him recklessly, the urge so strong she nearly acted on it several times.
But she knew Charlie wade harbored no such feelings for her, and though they were backstage, out of sight of the tens of thousands of fans, hundreds of staff could see, if she hugged and kissed him here, the news would spread like wildfire.
Reluctantly, she restrained her overwhelming impulse.
Instead, she quickly shifted her focus to their upcoming joint performance.
A bold idea struck her, to use the performance as an excuse to confess her love to Charlie wade on stage, in front of tens of thousands of fans and the world!
Charlie wade, meanwhile, wasn’t paying much attention to Tawana, his gaze fixed on Stephanie performing with full dedication, he couldn’t help but marvel, even sharing the stage with an international superstar like Tawana, even facing her fans, Stephanie held her own, performing steadily, even exceeding expectations, her ability to rise to the challenge far surpassed most.
In that moment, Charlie wade stopped seeing Stephanie as just a little sister, recognizing her as a truly exceptional, powerful woman.
Tawana felt a pang of envy.
She could tell that while Charlie wade was devoted to his wife, he also doted on Stephanie, she must hold a special place in his heart.
As for herself, Charlie wade seemed to treat her as a mere acquaintance, sometimes not even that, more like a mutually beneficial business partner.
Onstage, Stephanie was winning over Tawana’s foreign fans, who hadn’t heard her songs before, with her voice.
Though they didn’t fully understand the lyrics, they clearly loved her music, tone, and stage presence, clapping and cheering along.
After a few songs, a staff member approached, “Miss Sweet, Mr. Wade, it’s time for you both to head to the dressing room to change.”
Tawana nodded and said to Charlie wade, “Mr. Wade, let’s go backstage.”
“Sure.”
Charlie wade agreed, turning with her to head to the dressing area.
As Charlie wade began donning his assassin-themed costume, Stephanie finished her penultimate song.
The big screens then played some behind-the-scenes clips of her and Tawana, while Stephanie dashed backstage to change.
She shared a dressing room with Tawana, and when she arrived, Tawana’s look was already half-complete.
Tawana looked at her, smiling, “Stephanie, your performance was amazing, Mr. Wade and I watched from the side for a while, the audience clearly loved it, I just checked social media, everyone’s raving about you!”
Stephanie smiled, “As long as I didn’t drag you down, I’m good.”
Her stylist immediately began transforming her look.
A few minutes later, Stephanie’s styling was done, she stood up and said to Tawana, “Tawana, your look is stunning, the blend of Eastern and Western beauty is spot-on, when you take the stage later, it’ll blow all the fans away.”
Tawana laughed, “As long as Chinese fans like it, that’s enough, my biggest fear is them thinking I’ve disrespected Chinese culture.”
“No way!” Stephanie said with a grin, “I bet this look of yours will top the trending lists on Chinese social media!”
Tawana nodded, thinking to herself, “I don’t want to trend for my look, I want to trend for my actions!”
