Charlie wade was completely unaware that he had already been exposed.
He didn’t have time to wait for Tawana’s concert to end. After greeting Tawana’s manager, he left early with Stephanie.
On the way to the airport, Charlie wade said to Stephanie, “Nannan, you’ve finally got some time to rest. You’ve been running around with Tawana for four shows these past few days. For the next while, don’t go gallivanting about. Stay home and spend some quality time with Uncle Orrin and Aunt Angie.”
Stephanie grinned and teased, “Brother Charlie wade, are you worried I’ll show up at Tawana’s other concerts as a guest performer?”
Tawana had a total of twenty shows in China, with only eight completed so far, leaving twelve to go.
Since Charlie wade had taken on the so-called title of Feng Shui Director, he was committed to overseeing all the performances from start to finish.
Stephanie naturally wanted to collaborate with Tawana again.
The next stop was Shanghai, and she could fly over to be a guest performer, getting a few extra days with Charlie wade in the process.
But Charlie wade’s suggestion to stay home with her parents seemed to imply he didn’t want her to follow.
Caught out, Charlie wade felt a touch awkward.
Still, he explained, “It’s not that I’m worried about you coming along. I’m worried that if you do, Tawana will rope you into some collaboration, and with her hugging and kissing on stage, who could stand that…”
Stephanie’s eyes crinkled with laughter. Clearly, Tawana’s enthusiastic advances weren’t to Charlie wade’s liking.
And no wonder. In terms of looks, Tawana wasn’t exactly a top-tier Western beauty, falling far short of someone like Helena, the Nordic Queen.
Stephanie knew Helena had long harboured feelings for Charlie wade, and she was famously reserved, with no dating history or scandals. If even Helena couldn’t sway Charlie wade, what chance did Tawana, a seasoned entertainment industry figure, have?
When Charlie wade arrived at the airport, Isaac Cameron was already there.
He had arranged a helicopter from a general aviation company to take Stephanie back after Charlie wade left.
Seeing Charlie wade, Isaac Cameron said with some guilt, “Young Master, you gave me too short notice. There are no first-class tickets left for this flight. Should I coordinate with the crew to prepare for takeoff and use the Wade family’s plane to fly you back?”
“No need,” Charlie wade waved it off. “It’s just me, and a two-hour flight will pass quickly. Economy’s fine.”
Then, Charlie wade instructed Isaac Cameron, “Make sure Nannan gets home safely.”
“Don’t worry, Young Master,” Isaac Cameron replied. “The helicopter’s ready, the flight path’s approved, and it’ll fly straight to Jindi Tower near Miss Stephanie’s home. We’ve got a car to take her the rest of the way.”
Charlie wade nodded and said goodbye to Stephanie, “Nannan, I’m heading in. Text me when you get home.”
Stephanie was reluctant but, with Isaac Cameron present, couldn’t be too affectionate. She held his hand and asked, “Brother Charlie wade, when will you come back to Eastcliff to see me?”
Charlie wade replied, “Didn’t I promise to come to your final concert in Eastcliff?”
Stephanie pouted, “That’s ages away! It’s a month after the New Year.”
Charlie wade smiled, “I’ll see how things go in between. I can’t make any promises now.”
