Elaine was very dissatisfied with Hani’s explanation.
She immediately retorted, questioning, “What do you mean? When your group’s boss comes, we customers can’t enjoy ourselves? Who’s the god here, the customer or the boss?”
Hani, quite embarrassed, said, “Madam, naturally, only the customer is god, but I’m just a lowly butler. How can I control how the group’s boss arranges things?”
Elaine shot back, “Where’s your group’s boss? Get him here to see me. I want to ask him face-to-face if this is how he usually treats customers!”
Hani was startled by Elaine’s words and cautiously asked, “Madam, do you know who our group’s boss is?”
Elaine scoffed, “I come here to spend money on a holiday, and I need to research who your boss is? What’s that about? Is your boss more impressive than the famous Bill Gates?”
Hani coughed awkwardly twice and explained in a low voice, “Madam, according to last year’s authoritative Hurun Rich List, our boss ranks third globally. The Bill Gates you mentioned ranks eighth.”
“What’s that?” Elaine was stunned, blurting out, “Your boss just runs a hotel, and he can rank third on the global rich list?”
Hani explained, “Madam, you may not know, but it’s not just this island you’re on. All the global White Horse Hotels are just a small part of our boss’s portfolio. Famous luxury brands like LV and Hermès are now his businesses. He’s an international luxury goods tycoon.”
“Bernard Arnault?” Charlie wade heard the name, and a playful smirk curved his lips. So, this carefully chosen island was that guy’s property. If he’d known, he would’ve made him throw in this island during the Rejuvenation Pill auction.
“Damn…” Elaine muttered, sighing, “That old dog’s so rich. Looks like luxury goods are a real money-spinner. Those designer bags I bought, wonder how much that old dog made off me?”
Hani, startled, quickly reminded her, “Madam, please mind your words…”
“Oh, oh!” Elaine snapped back to reality, chuckling awkwardly, “If you say he’s the third richest in the world, I’ll definitely watch my words.”
She tilted her head, thought for a moment, and asked Hani, “Besides that underwater spa, which one’s the best?”
Hani replied, “The best is our beach spa.”
Elaine nodded at once, waving her hand, “Alright, book me in. I’ll head over after breakfast!”
Jacob Wilson raised his hand, “Book one for me too. I want to experience it.”
He looked at Charlie wade and Claire Wilson, “Charlie wade, Claire, want to join?”
Charlie wade smiled, “I’ll pass.”
Claire Wilson nodded, “I’ll pass too. You guys go.”
Elaine laughed, “Alright, you two enjoy some couple time!”
Claire Wilson looked a bit awkward. She’d been looking forward to a romantic getaway with Charlie wade on this beautiful tropical island, but now, with a heavy weight in her heart, all her excitement had fizzled out.
After breakfast, Elaine and Jacob Wilson headed to the beach spa Hani mentioned. Charlie wade asked Claire Wilson, “Darling, fancy a walk by the sea?”
