Ma Kui’s words made Charlie wade realise that the situation in Syria was likely far more complex than he had imagined.
If it were just a ragtag group of opposition forces, they wouldn’t have the brains to devise such a multifaceted, vicious plan.
With Blackwater Company, an internationally notorious troublemaker, involved, the sophistication of the scheme skyrocketed.
Fortunately, by sheer chance, he and Hamid had chosen the same island. Otherwise, if they had missed each other, Hamid would surely be dead today, the Wanlong Temple would be framed, and as Hamid’s shareholder and investor, and the true owner of the Wanlong Temple, Charlie wade would suffer the heaviest losses.
Thus, Blackwater Company was essentially eyeing both his house and his car. Without teaching them a lesson, they wouldn’t learn.
So, Charlie wade said to Ma Kui, “I’m giving you a chance to live. If you cooperate fully, I guarantee you’ll survive safely. But if you don’t, I’ll not only kill you but also track down your entire family and make them pay!”
Ma Kui, flustered, stammered, “Mr. Wade, one person’s deeds should be answered by that person alone. You… you can’t harm my family!”
Charlie wade sneered coldly, “To hell with your ‘one person’s deeds’ nonsense. You planned to kill Hamid, frame the Wanlong Temple, and even slaughter over a hundred tourists here. Compared to you, even if I wiped out your entire clan, what would that count for?”
He turned to Hamid, his voice stern. “Commander Ha, these people came for you. They might not have spared your two pregnant wives either. If you escape alive, how will you take revenge?”
Hamid, grinding his teeth, cursed furiously, “These damned scoundrels are insidious and ruthless. I’ll slaughter all their direct kin, men, women, old, young, even the unborn in their wombs, none will live!”
Charlie wade looked at Ma Kui, saying calmly, “You heard him. This is the bitter fruit you sowed, no one else to blame.”
Ma Kui was scared witless. He wasn’t afraid of death, but the thought of harm befalling his family filled him with terror. He kowtowed to Charlie wade, pleading, “Mr. Wade, rest assured, my wretched life is yours from now on. Whatever you ask, I’ll do. I only beg you and Commander Ha spare my family…”
Charlie wade said coolly, “Listen well. Your first task is to take your assault rifle and put a few bullets into every corpse of your men outside.”
“What?!” Ma Kui asked in horror, “Mr. Wade, why shoot their bodies again?”
Charlie wade smiled faintly. “Because the world needs to know you killed your own men.”
“Me?” Ma Kui grew even more panicked, blurting, “Mr. Wade, you’re trying to ruin me! Blackwater won’t let me go! They’ll surely seek revenge on me and my family!”
Charlie wade countered, “Blackwater? Think about it. Once the truth is out and the world knows Blackwater orchestrated a terrorist attack for their own gain, would they dare retaliate against your family?”
Ma Kui’s eyes widened. “You mean, make me a tainted witness?”
“Something like that,” Charlie wade said. “Once everything’s set, I’ll have Mr. Bernard Elnor seek help from the Maldives authorities. He’ll tell them, and the world, that you led the terrorist attack on the island tonight, but at a critical moment, he bribed you with a fortune to switch sides. After defecting, you and a few trusted men killed the rest of your team.”
