Grace Lowes and Song Rife originally thought that Charlie wade simply did not feel at ease leaving them behind, so he wanted to keep them both by his side. They never expected that Charlie wade actually intended to bring them along to comprehend some kind of mutated heavenly phenomenon.
For cultivators, opportunities are the highest secret. No one would share an opportunity with others. If someone wanted to exchange an opportunity from another person, they would have to pay an enormous price. Just like the years they had spent in the Poqing Society, although they could obtain some cultivation resources, the cost was becoming Wu Fiona’s claws and talons, even staking their lives in Wu Fiona’s hands. Only in this way could they exchange for so-called opportunities from Wu Fiona.
But Charlie wade never made such transactions.
Whether it was pills or cultivation opportunities, as long as they were his own people, he would never be stingy. If everyone comprehended it together, they might even inspire each other.
Grace Lowes and Song Rife felt endless gratitude in their hearts. They immediately stood up, knelt on one knee, and thanked Charlie wade in unison.
Charlie wade raised his hand slightly and said, “Don’t rush to thank me yet. Whether this phenomenon will appear again today, and whether it will be useful to you if it does, remains unknown for now. Everything depends on everyone’s opportunity and fortune. If it really helps you, it won’t be too late to thank me then.”
Having said that, he immediately stood up and declared, “The nights in the northern hemisphere are getting shorter and shorter. We must hurry. Let’s set off at once.”
Helena suddenly felt a little flustered and quickly asked, “Mr Wade, may I come with you?”
Charlie wade replied, “We may have to stay in the ice and snow all night. Your body definitely won’t be able to withstand it, so you should stay here and rest early.”
Helena was stunned. She had arranged for her room to be next to Charlie wade’s, thinking she would have the advantage of proximity, yet Charlie wade was going to spend the whole night in the freezing wilderness. What was the point of her little scheme then?
Still, she knew her own limits.
In this weather, even a short walk outside would probably last no more than an hour for her. Spending an entire night out there, even if it didn’t freeze her to death, would at least make her seriously ill. She was not a cultivator like Charlie wade, so naturally she could not endure it.
Realising this, she could only sigh softly and say, “Since Mr Wade has put it that way, I won’t try to put on a brave face.”
Then she turned to Lin Wan’er and asked, “Is Miss Lin going too?”
Lin Wan’er nodded with a smile and said, “Yes, I’m not afraid of the cold.”
Although Lin Wan’er was not a cultivator, she had taken the Evergreen Pill of Ten Thousand Ancients, so even Charlie wade’s psychological suggestions had no effect on her. A little chill naturally posed no problem.
Helena had not expected that all four of them would head out as soon as they arrived. The thought of being left alone in the villa all night made her feel very disappointed.
Yet even though she was disappointed, she had no other choice. She could only force herself to say, “Then please be careful and stay safe…”
Charlie wade nodded, said goodbye to her, and then led the three women into the darkness, heading north.
As the aurora season gradually drew to a close, both the span and intensity of the auroras had weakened considerably compared to the depths of winter.
The four of them trekked through the snow for several tens of minutes before reaching the spot directly beneath the aurora.
The aurora, predominantly green, stretched from the ground all the way up into the high sky, swaying in the air under the influence of the magnetic field. If one looked only at its shape, it strongly resembled the visual effect of a long, nebulised fireplace.
Charlie wade stood beneath the aurora, sat cross-legged on the snow, and said to Grace Lowes and Song Rife, “Both of you focus your attention on the aurora overhead. If the aurora changes, make sure to remember every single change in your mind.”
The two women were utterly bewildered. In their eyes, the changes in the aurora were completely irregular, and its ceaseless fluctuations were ever-changing. How could they possibly remember them all?
Song Rife could not help but look at Lin Wan’er beside her and plead, “Miss Lin, if it’s convenient, could you please record it with your phone? I’m afraid I’ll miss some details later.”
