With Lu Yao’s permission, Locust Jue, with its five brothers, finally passed through the Black Water Strider’s death blockade and made their way south to the frigid northern New Continent.
They trembled in fear amongst the ice giants, witnessing the huge earthworm swarms like geoducks churning through the ice, and were even more stunned and emboldened by the grandeur and magnificence of the dragon’s nest.
The bully locusts were invincible in the Old World, and only the locusts could defeat the locusts.
But in the new world, which was illuminated by the gods, they were just tiny bugs, and any kind of transcendent creature could easily crush them.
The entire locust six brothers all clamped their wings, coyly, and hid to the side when they encountered someone passing by, afraid of getting into trouble.
The humans here were not afraid of them at all, and even pointed at them with interest.
Lu Yao saw it.
A merchant asked the Locust Brothers.
“Friends, do you need a job with a good salary?”
“Look, you guys look much stronger than the other …… er, kindred species, Yao City and Salt City have never seen transcendent creatures like you.”
“All that is needed is for you to go over there and walk around and make some simple performances. Do you guys know about theatre? It’s when you perform some stories and tricks on stage. I’m the head of the ‘Wild Theatre Troupe’, Shang Bei.”
“Like drilling through a ring of fire, or dancing upside down in the air, playing a bully hurting an innocent young girl …… Please don’t mind, these are just working roles in front of the stage, don’t bring playing roles into your life, make money.”
“Recently, this is a windfall, friends, my troupe members can all buy houses in Saniro, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Lu Yao said to himself, “What a great guy.
He actually started an acrobatic roadshow.
This businessman was indeed a relevant practitioner, he led a transcendent team that performed everywhere, there were fishmen, man-eating crabs, and a fiery turkey inside, it could be said to be a professional team.
The other bully locusts couldn’t understand and could only be communicated by Locust Jue’s attempts at gesticulation.
The merchant directly took out [Blast Furnace Honey Wine], and once the group drank a small amount of wine, communication became smooth.
The locust brothers stepped aside to discuss.
They have no skills, they can neither plant nor build, at best they are an amateur hole digger, but in front of the thick split earthworms, this little skill is meaningless.
But as bullies, they are professionals.
Two of the bully locusts chose to join the troupe and became the newest members of the troupe, performing all the way over towards the south.
Locust Jue could only continue on the road with his other two brothers.
They were hungry and tired, and eventually Locust Jue communicated that the four brothers were working in a tavern – the main job was to clean up the rubbish.
In fact, the other three brothers really enjoyed the work.
The rubbish contained a great deal of food scraps left behind by the patrons, as well as discarded ingredients from the back kitchen, and a portion of rotting matter, all of which the bully locusts were able to eat, which was infinitely more delicious than the dried up grass roots of the old world.
At one point while drinking [Blast Furnace Honey Wine], the two brothers drunkenly said, “It’s such a good job here, I wish I could do this for the rest of my life.”
The tavern owner, on the other hand, laughed and said, “That’s not a good ambition, friends. Sometime you must visit the Twin Cities, pay homage to the shrine in Yao City, and see the good life in Salt City.”
In the second spring, Locust Jue took the three brothers away from the new northern land. It had learnt the language of the Yao tribe and was able to communicate with humans in a basic way, and it had gained some understanding of the new world.
In order to save money, they chose to fly across the wide ocean, find an island to rest when they were tired, and nibble on some leaves and wild fruits when they were hungry.
In the process, they are shipwrecked several times. Attacked by cannibal crabs, hunted by wild inflammatory birds …… In the end, they still had to choose to take a boat.
After arriving at Yao City, Locust Jue came to the temple, and its identity as a prophet immediately made Pill Spoon sense. Medicine Spoon, who was already an old lady, received it and had a cordial and friendly conversation with the foreign prophet.
“Please stay at the temple if you wish. I am old enough, and a prophet is needed here to serve the gods and to carry their will further.”
Locust Jue was silent for a moment.
“Thank you for your kind offer, I don’t feel I have that ability or qualification ……”
“I’m ashamed to say that, entering the New World, I wanted to find a way to save our clan. Currently I can’t even do that, let alone anything else.”
“Oh? Please tell us.”
And so, the Locust Prophet spoke about the current state of the Old World and the Bully Locusts, as well as the fate of the Locusts being controlled by the Tyrannical Eclipse.
“I see.”
Pill Spoon asked slowly, “So what were you thinking?”
“I originally thought that I would bring my kind to the new world, learn the excellent farming techniques here, get the seeds, and then go back to plough out farmland so that food could be constantly produced from the land of.”
“But now that I think about it, that’s probably impossible.”
Locust Jue calmly said, “Along the way, I’ve already found out that the Bully Locust clan likes to enjoy themselves when they have a full stomach, and have great endurance, they can tolerate both cold and heat, and it’s fine to eat poisonous and rotten things, but they don’t care about anything when they’re hungry.”
“That’s why it’s hard to endure long periods of ploughing. It’s probably a trait of the breed itself.”
“When I was working at the Northern Pub, I met Mr Shangbei, the head of the Wild Theatre Company, and he invited two of my kindred, saying that he wanted to play up their rare traits, and they immediately agreed.”
Locust Jue paused, “I think that our clan is not good at farming and breeding, but we are good at something. That is endurance and not being picky about what we eat.”
“As long as we can have enough to eat, the Bully Locust clan is not really scary or crazy bugs.”
Medicine Spoon revealed a smile with wrinkles, “You think thoroughly. Every clan, and even every individual, has their own areas of excellence and ineptitude.”
“I do have a suggestion, perhaps the Bully Locust clan can co-operate with the Temple Society as a first start.”
“The Temple Society has been researching magic potions, and has already developed anaesthetic juice for primary magic potions, and a sleeping agent for intermediate magic potions, and is working on the development of new types of magic potions.”
“Your tribe has excellent endurance, how about serving as our drug testers and special researchers? We will provide plenty of food to satisfy your eating desires. However, the test medicines need to endure some pain, and part of it is uncontrollable; they will be poisoned, dazed, and may even die.”
An exclamation mark lit up above Locust Jue’s head, “Our clan is not afraid of death, only hunger! Is it really possible?”
“This is a proposal, whether it is appropriate or not requires further co-operation to determine.”
Pill Spoon remained cautious with his words, “But I think it shouldn’t be a loss, so we can give it a try.”
“We are willing to try!”
Locust Jue set an example and began to act as the first drug tester himself.
Soon this proved feasible.
With Locust Jue and Pill Spoon pushing hard, willing bully locusts came to Yao City one after another, forming the Temple Guild’s team of pill testers.
Their daily job was to eat all sorts of potions and pills.
The scholars of the Temple Guild were on the side to record their reactions and make subsequent adjustments to the magic potions.
The bully locusts also do have thick skin and flesh, one second they are still twitching, the next second they are spirited, some of them are even already physically stiff, and as a result, they come back to life again not long after …… there are even some that are addicted to taking magic potions.
After becoming drug testers, the bully locusts were also further researched by the Templar Society, and their self-contained resistance to toxicity and endurance turned into a new direction for the Templar Society’s research.

They had found their own space to live.
