In many ancient cultures, a prophet refers to a person who is inspired by God to communicate God’s will. By that definition, this pixelated villain who found the [Energy Cane] fits without a doubt.
In the pixel game world, Lu Yao also needed someone who could understand his own meaning, even if he could only understand a very small portion of it, that was still better than having a bunch of villains stifling their guesses. He didn’t want any more babies appearing in the [Sacrifice] slot.
Lu Yao tapped [Yes].
The screen displayed.
[The first Prophet has appeared in the Garlic Tribe, and under the Prophet’s leadership and influence, everyone’s intelligence has slightly increased.]
As Lu Yao operated, a white light lit up on the villain’s body, and the question mark above his head turned into a lit up light bulb.
The word [Prophet] emerged above the pixelated villain’s head.
The Prophet knelt down and worshipped the idol, then he walked out of the temple.
As soon as he appeared, all the pixel villains surrounded him, as if they knew that he had gained the grace of the gods.
The Prophet said, “The gods require offerings of magical items that we cannot understand or grasp. Everyone keep an eye out in the future, and if you see anything similar, offer it to the gods, and that will receive a boon from them.”
“The Prophet is right!”
“Listen to the Prophet!”
“Magical items, go find magical items!”
“Magical boar! I know of a, white magical boar that no one has ever caught!”
“I’ve seen magical fish in the water, it eats all flesh and bones, it’s very magical, the Lord Gods will love it!”
Lu Yao looked breathlessly at the two pixelated villains who spoke last.
They were indeed both wearing leather waistcoats. Even without any markings or names, Lu Yao instantly recognised that they must be the Pigfish Brothers from before.
These two were obsessed with pigs and fish, like fireflies in the night, not too striking.
Although the Prophet had told the others about the characteristics of the sacrifices, no pixel villain had made any similar discoveries in the three hours since then. Most of the pixel-people returned to their normal lives, growing garlic and berries before eating them.
Soon after, two new babies were born to the tribe. The Pixellets began to pull out their hands to care for the two newborns.
The only thing Lu Yao could operate to guide them was the Prophet. However, he could only move the Prophet to a designated location, and as for whether the Prophet could understand and discover anything, it only depended on his own comprehension.
After operating around for a while it was already 6.30pm and Lu Yao’s stomach got hungry.
He went downstairs to a small restaurant and ordered a green pepper and shredded meat fried rice, wolfed it down and hurried back.
On the computer screen, there is a new change in the Garlic Tribe.
A black bear from nowhere had broken into the tribe, and it had destroyed two farmlands and a house, with the bodies of two pixelated villains on the ground.
Most of the little people were hiding behind the shrine, shaking with fear. The Prophet stood at the edge of the temple, holding the tribe’s two babies in his hands.
The black bear, two or three times the size of the pixel villain, was some sort of gargoyle to them, and it was at this point tearing into the bodies of the pixel villains on the ground.
Lu Yao looked furious.
It’s not easy for me to wait for two newborns, and I’m still counting on the population to rise to faith, but you’ve reduced my staff by two as soon as you arrived. You want to die, don’t you?
Eat my heavenly justice!
Just as he was about to rub a round of lightning, he suddenly noticed that the situation was different.
The tribe had two pixelated villains confronting the black bear. They were wearing leather waistcoats and holding wooden sticks, and the two of them circled the black bear one after the other, constantly hitting it on the head and buttocks.
As they moved, their mouths shouted.
“Pig power!”
“I’m as dexterous as a fish!”
This speech is clearly the Pig-Fish Brothers.
Lu Yao was in a bit of a quandary.
If he used lightning now, the two villains might also be beaten into flying dust, just like that Bullhorn Helmet leader before. One had to get them to pull away a little bit to make it work. The tribe’s little population couldn’t afford any more attrition.
Lu Yao decided to take another look.
The two pixel villains moved nimbly. They co-ordinated one after the other, hitting one stick and escaping, while the other continued to attack, leaving the black bear on its back.
The wooden sticks didn’t do much damage, but they still made the black bear feel fed up, and anger rose from its head. It dropped the corpse on the ground and frantically chased after the two pixelated villains, and this time the two didn’t continue pulling, but fled together in the direction of the forest.
Lu Yao saw it.
The two villains were trying to lure the black bear out to avoid further harming others.
Normally, the two Pigfish brothers appeared to be a bit unreliable, but when it came to such a big event they were really on it.
Lu Yao also immediately ordered the Miracle [Lightning], predicting in advance the direction that the black bear would run towards the forest, trying to keep the firepower and the Pigfish brothers at the furthest possible distance.
A silver lightning bolt struck down on his head!
The Black Bear had its head blown off by the falling lightning and instantly lay down in seconds, its charred black body smoking.
Under the lightning air strike, the Hogfish brothers also fell to the ground. But after a few seconds, they climbed back up, looking alive.
Lu Yao breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing the black bears being killed by the lightning, all the Pixel Villains cheered with their arms raised in the air, and smiley face symbols appeared above their heads.
Only the Prophet had question marks popping up above his head.
Lu Yao tapped on the question mark.
The Prophet pondered, “How did the bear come out of the deep mountains. A bear this big has never been seen in the neighbourhood before, where exactly did it come from and why did it suddenly attack the Garlic Tribe?”
He handed the child in his hand to the small man next to him and walked all the way to the black bear’s charred corpse.
Then the exclamation mark lit up on the prophet’s head.
“Not a bear!”
The charred bear carcass turned into a dead pixelated villain. The little people of the tribe panicked.
“It’s a Devil’s Devotee!”
“The Devil’s Believer turned into a bear, that’s why he attacked the tribe, he wanted to destroy the temple and attack us!”
“A man-eating demon, so scary!”
“Demons, horrible demons, there are demons here! I want to get out of here!”
Three of the pixelated villains immediately fled in all directions.
The population in the upper right corner instantly changed to 25.
The Faith value also fell by 3 points, counting the 20 points of Faith value consumed from the previous use of [Lightning] and the replenishment from the [Energy Cane], there were now a total of 7 points of Faith left in the temple.
Lu Yao scratched his head.
After working hard for a whole day, all of a sudden, he had returned to his pre-liberation days.
It wasn’t easy to be a god.
What made him even more concerned was the newly appeared demonic element.
From the sound of it, demons seemed to be in the opposing camp to gods. This tribe of his own hadn’t even been established for long before the demon believers came to attack, and he didn’t know if it was a chance event or if he was being targeted.
What was certain was that one would inevitably have to deal with demons in the coming days.
The prophet found a letter in the demon believer’s corpse.
“The letter reads: target the forest tribe, kill the most people possible while the forest tribe hunters are out.”
The question mark on the Prophet’s head turned into a glowing light bulb again.
“I see. This Demon Believer who changed into a black bear looked in the wrong place, mistaking our tribe for the Forest Tribe, so they attacked us. Their target was the forest tribe, we are still safe.”
The other fearful little people then quieted down.
Then the pixel little people started repairing the destroyed houses and farmlands and got busy.
Lu Yao tapped on the shrine interface and found that the [Garlic] in the [Gift] slot inside hadn’t disappeared yet, which meant that he still couldn’t give them remote assistance.
The [Offerings] slot below was empty, and the tribal villains hadn’t sent any new offerings.
To his surprise, two more Pixel Villains entered the temple.
–Great God, there are two believers who have performed a feat that far surpasses their peers, do we need to transform them into heroes?
[Yes] [No]
