The Simulator Chapter 41

Larger paddleboats have replaced canoes on the Garlic Tribe’s docks.

Unlike a canoe, which can be steered by a single person, a paddleboat requires several people to manoeuvre, using sails when the wind is blowing and paddles to move forward when the wind is blowing.

Paddleboats could enter deeper water, were faster, more stable and stronger than canoes.
With paddleboats, the Garlic Tribe’s radius expanded even further. Their footprints spread all around along the East River, and for the first time, they officially entered the East Sea and began their initial voyage.
But this also led to the issue of resources. Making a paddle sailing boat required a large amount of wood, flax and a portion of copper, and it took more than ten times as long to make as a canoe.

The Garlic Tribe had very little flax, relying on wild collection, and there was no shortage of wood or copper. Due to the material and craftsmanship problems, the Garlic Tribe’s paddle sailing boats only had three for a long time.
Lu Yao was not in a hurry.
Having mastered the oar sailing boat manufacturing technology, the next step was to continuously upgrade the manufacturing technology and collect more resources.
While the Garlic Tribe was exploring the offshore area, the East Sea Tribe that hadn’t appeared for a long time came to the pier again.

They were still travelling in old canoes and carrying traditional bows and arrows. Apart from not being accompanied by sea monsters, the women hadn’t changed from the first time they met.

The Garlic Tribe’s dock had become quite large, with a wide and sturdy paddle sailing boat parked next to it. In comparison, the women’s canoes looked shabby.
The leading [grandmother] said, “Friends of the Garlic Tribe, we see your large boats, they are fast and very agile.”

“Your ships have entered the ocean and have been wandering offshore. Sailing a ship in the ocean is a very dangerous affair, and without the appropriate experience and skills, you could face shipwreck at any time.”

“The East River Tribe is a branch of the East Sea Clan, and we have experience and skills in navigating on water, and this knowledge is very valuable.”
“We wish to exchange [Navigation] for your [Paddle Sailing] techniques.”
The tribal leader Fishing Walk did not reply immediately.
He consulted with the Astrologer Shahan and the Inventor of the Paddle Sailboat, Fishing Lian, and then responded.

“When the Prophet and the Shaman were still alive, our two tribes maintained a longstanding friendship, and although there were times when there were conflicts, in the end, we still respected each other. Many of the young men in the tribe are the result of the union of the two tribes.”
Fishwalk said, “However, the deal you are proposing is extremely unequal.”
“Our paddleboats can enter any body of water, and it is only a matter of time before we master the art of navigation.”
“And until then, the paddle-sailors will grow stronger. Until our fleet can pave the rivers and enter the sea, and all the water we reach will be within the boundaries of our tribe.”
“But you cannot build paddle-sailors.”
“The population of the East River Tribe is steadily decreasing, and the Salt Pond Tribe no longer appears on the rivers. Everything you need comes from our tribe, wood, wool, meat, potatoes, garlic.”

“You are an abandoned branch of the clan, and since you have been unable to spawn sea monsters, the East Sea Clan no longer provides you with any support. You cannot even return to the sea because without the sea monsters, the winds and waves will destroy the canoes.”

“The Garlic Tribe has been giving you guys help.”
“By joining the Garlic Tribe, you will master the [paddle sailing boats]. At that time you will return to the sea in these mighty ships and will not have to bow down to the East Sea Clan.”
“There are many ways to gain respect, but the best way is to be strong enough! Believe me, my best brothers and comrades died because of this, and I understand this very well.”
Fishwalker’s lobbying was rejected by the East River Tribe.

They remained stubborn as ever, and the group left in their canoes.
While Lu Yao was gauging whether or not he should push a hand himself and have a hurricane blaze or something, the Donghe Tribe’s long-standing backlog of internal conflicts erupted as a result.
On the boat island, the internal Donghe Tribe split into two factions.
The three female captains wanted to join the Garlic Tribe, while [Grandmother] insisted on retaining the independence of the East River Tribe, and the two sides could not convince each other. So the female captains took 74 people to the Garlic Tribe by canoe and officially integrated.

With the remaining men, [Grandmother] drove the canoe all the way towards the East Sea, looking like she wanted to return to the East Sea Clan at the source.
Lu Yao did not know if they had successfully crossed the sea and returned to their homeland.
What was certain was that from this day on, the Donghe Tribe would become history.
The female captains joined and brought with them the important [Navigation Technique]. They also brought their own charts, sweeping away quite a few of the unexplored mists on the water around them.

Lu Yao dragged the mouse and looked down on the East River and the East Sea.
Compared to the vast and vast East Sea, this piece of land where the Garlic Tribe was located seemed small.
The East Sea Clan’s base camp was on a medium-sized island in the southeast of the East Sea. It was just that it was filled with mist, indicating that the East River Tribe hadn’t been in contact for a long time.
Without mastering sea routes and navigation techniques, it would be difficult to come all the way from there.

Even if one had mastered the appropriate techniques, it would be almost impossible to complete the sea crossing without a sea monster escorting the canoe.
Lu Yao felt that the [grandmother]’s East River Tribe that had returned to their ancestral land had more than likely mailed it.
But that wasn’t important.

What was important was this group of women who had newly joined the tribe.
To Lu Yao’s delight, the women of the East River Tribe showed their hidden racial talent. They possessed superb fertility, able to conceive and give birth to babies in a short period of time.
In a way, this was the strongest ability of the tribal era!
As long as the population could continue to grow, the tribal civilisation would eventually be able to move to the next stage and enter a new era.

An unwarranted association popped up in Lu Yao’s mind.
Possibly, the primitive tribes on Earth also had such an experience.
Some tribes were good at hunting and everyone was strong, some tribes had strong fertility, and some tribes had mastered planting technology……. Different tribes merged together in various ways, combining the strengths of each to form a new human community that could move into the next era.
……

In the simulator, Lu Yao operated in three threads.
In the castle, Isabelle is still doing continuous mental pollution on the boss Blood Knight, waiting for her chance.
In the ghost city Saniro, the ghosts were continuing to perfect the city of the dead.
In the Garlic Tribe, the Age of Sailing was creeping up on them.
All three parties needed some time to digest and metamorphose.

Taking advantage of this effort, Lu Yao turned the simulator into a minimiser and prepared to find a comedy film to watch and relax.
This recent series of multi-line operations had made Lu Yao tired as well.
When the pixel villain went around committing death, he himself had to be rescued at all times.

Pixel villains were waiting to die, and he had to give them a bigby pocket to support them.
This kind of emotion could be said to be quite complicated.
The gods really didn’t have holidays.
Compared to himself, a god who works six days on and one day off is considered passive-aggressive.
He hadn’t yet found the film when a message suddenly came from Isabel’s side.
“My lord, the forest wolves found a 40-person-sized tribe of cave-dwelling monsters in the mountains.”
Good lord!
Just in time to try out the strength of this group of forest wolves in actual combat.
As a result, Isabelle’s next sentence was, “Before the forest wolves could even launch an attack, they surrendered of their own accord, willing to become vassals of the Garlic Tribe.”

Lu Yao immediately lost it.
Surrendering without firing a single shot?
This group of cave monsters didn’t know where they learnt their bad habits from.
