The Simulator Chapter 5 - LiddRead

The Simulator Chapter 5

Lu Yao points [Yes].

A white light lit up on the two pixelated villains, and the title [Hero] was suddenly added to their heads.

What made Lu Yao happy was that after the Prophet, the Hero character could also be guided to operate.

He selected certain places and the two heroes would explore and patrol that area. Compared to the Prophet who liked to make good use of his thinking, the Heroes were better at exploring everywhere and field surveys.

In addition, repeated clicks on the two pigfish brothers will lead to a more detailed character interface.

This screen features pixelated risographs of the two male heroes, with the pig-loving hero being muscular and the fish-loving hero looking slim and agile. They both wear the same leather waistcoat and have no other equipment.

……

[Hero Lv1] Fisherman

Attack 1 Defence 1 Knowledge 0 Mana 0 Luck 1 Morale 0

……

Hero Lv1] Hunter

Attack 2 Defence 1 Knowledge 0 Mana 0 Luck 0 Morale 0

……

The Hogfish Brothers used to be really fishermen and hunters.

Their panel stats are more or less knocked off, but after all, you can’t ask for too much from a hero awakened from a normal pixel villain.

What about the Prophet?

Lu Yao continuously clicked on the Prophet, and sure enough, the character interface opened up as well.

The Prophet’s stand-up was bare-chested and looking up at the sky.

……

[Prophet Lv1] Farmer

Attack 0 Defence 0 Knowledge 3 Mana 0 Luck 0 Morale 0

[Ability]

Wisdom Lv1: Wisdom is the key to an Apostle’s ability to listen to the will of the gods. The higher the level of Wisdom, the easier it is to improve and comprehend the abilities.

……

Compared to the Pigfish Brothers, the Prophet also had a special ability [Wisdom].

Lu Yao placed his mouse over the six attributes, and the screen revealed the function of each attribute.

Attack: every 1 point of attack increases the damage of all members of the Hero Force by 3%.

Defence: every 1 point of defence increases the life value of all members of the hero troop by 3%.

Knowledge: Every 1 point of Knowledge increases maximum mana by 10 points and daily mana recovery by 1 point.

Mana: Every 1 point of Mana increases spell casting effects by 5% and reduces spell cooldowns by 4%.

Luck: Every 1 point of Luck gives all members of the Heroic Force a 4% chance to double their attacks, triggering random beneficial events.

Morale: Every 1 point of Morale gives every member of the Heroic Force a 4% chance to enter the High Morale state, which doubles movement speed and doubles attack speed for 10 seconds.

Seeing the descriptions of these six attributes, Lu Yao had a bottom in his heart.

This was very similar to the Heroes Invincible series, and it looked like in the future, no matter if it was a Prophet or a Hero, it would be possible to lead soldiers in combat actions.

The Garlic Tribe is sparsely populated, and production is in the early days of primitive handmade farming, no invention of agricultural tools, no smelting, and no mastery of making weapons, so there is still a process for the birth of professional soldiers.

Lu Yao selected the Pigfish Brothers together and told them to explore the forest together.

For now, he could only rely on the two bachelor heroes, hoping that they would have some luck.

A few minutes later, the Pigfish Brothers had actually made a gain in the forest.

“Forest tribe settlement found!”

“The Forest Tribe recognises our beliefs and acknowledges that we are also the people of the gods, and are willing to communicate with us.”

“We were treated with hospitality, and they wanted to exchange leather and meat for the tribe’s garlic.”

Lu Yao told them to return to the tribe and meet with the Prophet.

Learning of the forest tribe’s demands, the Prophet was lost in thought.

“Should we tell the Forest Tribe about the black bears or not? The Garlic Tribe is still weak, and making a deal with the Forest Tribe now will likely provoke an attack from the Demon Believers.”

“But this is also an opportunity for the tribe to go to the outside world, to be able to trade in the leather and meat we lack, and to establish a good relationship with the Forest Tribe.”

“What a tough choice.”

Lu Yao selected the Prophet and moved him directly into the forest.

Development was the hard way.

The tribe had to seize every opportunity to develop quickly if they wanted to avoid being beaten. Otherwise, after the Forest Tribe was taken out, the Demon Believers would turn around and have to deal with the Garlic Tribe. The opportunity could not be missed now.

An exclamation mark appeared above the Prophet’s head.

“Unknowingly I actually came to the forest, it seems that this is the will of the gods, the gods thought that they should unite with the forest tribe and just do it.”

The Prophet entered the woods, and a pixel villain came out of the woods to greet him as well. The pixelated villain wore a leather waistcoat, which was the trademark dress of the Forest Tribe.

A path was cut through the forest, leading to another tribal settlement deeper into the forest. On the computer screen, the observable boundaries expand further outwards.

Lu Yao could see clearly from the God’s perspective.

The forest tribe numbered what appeared to be hundreds of people, living on various treehouses in the forest.

Unlike the Garlic Tribe villain who did everything, the Forest Tribe had two clear professions.

Farmers specialise in growing berries and mushrooms and exchanging food with others.

Hunters use traps and wooden spears to hunt birds, hares, and monkeys; they trade their prey with the farmers and will also use the hides of their prey to make leather.

While the farmers stay with the tribe and tend to their berry bushes and mushroom patches, the hunters go deeper into the forests or into the mountains next door in search of all kinds of prey.

The leader of the forest tribe is called [Shaman] and wears a wooden mask. The shaman and the seer had been having conversations, but these conversations were not displayed on the screen, and it was as if the two villains had opened a private chat channel.

After about ten minutes, several messages suddenly surfaced on the game interface one after another.

[The Prophet told the Forest Tribe about the attack of the Demon Believers, and the Forest Tribe’s attitude turned friendly.]

[The Prophet teaches the Forest Tribe how to plant and use garlic, and the Forest Tribe’s attitude turns intimate.]

[The gift is completely finished. Garlic is integrated into the world.]

[The alliance between the Forest Tribe and the Garlic Tribe is successful. Your faith will be spread throughout the Forest Tribe.]

Lu Yao was slightly relieved.

The Prophet had made a number of successive achievements with some of his operations.

With hundreds of people on the Forest Tribe’s side, there was a chance to gain a few believers anyhow, and these were the sources of Faith Value that Lu Yao currently needed.

Making an alliance, on the other hand, gave the Garlic Tribe a reliable trade partner.

Most importantly, the [Gift of Grace] had also been completed.

He hurriedly tapped on the shrine interface.

Sure enough, the [Enchantment] slot had been emptied.

In other words, it was now possible to transmit another thing over to the Garlic Tribe for remote support.

Lu Yao was excited for a few seconds and fell into deep thought.

What exactly was the thing that the Garlic Tribe currently needed the most?

Texts?

Iron?

Pottery?

Grain?

……

Lu Yao played with the [Energetic Cane] in his hands as all sorts of ideas popped up in his head. Each of them seemed to come in handy and were important to the Garlic Tribe.

Just when he was having a bit of trouble choosing, another line of subtitles appeared on the computer screen.

[The Forest Tribe has offered an offering in gratitude for your bounty of garlic].

A second offering!

Lu Yao hurriedly tapped on the shrine.

A green plant appeared in the [Offering] slot, looking like a cactus ball in appearance.

……

[Cactus Ball Attendant]: +1/hour to Faith.

Faithful servants of the gods, they follow the orders of the gods and are responsible for cleaning and making offerings in the forest temple, a group of reliable and hardworking elves. Normally they are in fairy ball form, and will turn into servants in front of the gods.

……

Lu Yao looked stunned.

Alive?

He hurriedly took out the [Offering].

In an instant, there was an extra round fairy ball on the keyboard.

It appeared to be the size of Lu Yao’s fist, and there was no difference in appearance between it and a commercially available cactus ball, with spikes all over the full green sphere.

Suddenly, the cactus ball slowly shook and grew slender green arms and legs.

It bent its knees, its rounded body (or head) pressed against the tabletop, and bowed down to Lu Yao in a very solemn manner.

Lu Yao tried to say, “Can you clean?”

The Cactus Attendant remained on its knees and nodded.

“Then clean the ground here.”

The Fairy Orb Attendant was ordered to do so, and leapt off the table, landing gracefully and steadily, before striding up and down the floor. It trotted across the floor in a flurry of motion, swirling dust, hair, and debris from the floor wherever it went.

These clumps of dust and rubbish caught on the surface of the cactus ball’s body, which it gathered together and compressed into a ball.

It was like a small bio-vacuum cleaner, and it soon cleaned the floor, rolling out even the crumbs and old dirt from the crevices. The old floor tiles with cracks glowed with a bright, clean light, as if they had been waxed and maintained in a 4S shop.

Lu Yao crossed his legs, opened a bottle of Coke that he bought yesterday, and watched the cactus work, his heart was inexplicably cosy.

So this is the joy of the gods.
