For a long time the natives of the island led a carefree life.
There was an abundance of food on this wide island: berry bushes dotted the ground, dense coconut trees grew along the beaches, and the sea was full of shells and fish and crabs that had washed up.
The little people were able to fill their bellies by God alone.
They worshipped a friendly and gentle god, Akagami.
Whenever the little people encountered difficulties that they could not cope with, Ming Shen would send down His favours. He sent down rain on cool days, blew away huge waves with gusty winds, and dispelled continuous rainstorms with sunshine.
Under the blessing of the gods, the people of the Bright Moon Tribe wrapped up each day with ease and comfort.
The Bright God graced them with a seed called [Wheat], and the islanders began to try to grow food. However, they didn’t particularly care because there was no shortage of food on the island at all.
The appearance of wheat was an additional delicacy for the Mingyue Tribe, but it drew the intense attention of large flocks of seabirds. Their love for wheat far exceeded that of the tribe’s small people, and they often swarmed around and pecked at the ears.
It wasn’t long before the Bright Moon tribe was plagued by flocks of birds for a long time. Many of these birds had travelled a long way for this bite of delicious wheat.
For this reason, the Bright Moon tribe even prayed and cried to the gods.
The Bright God just blew up the wind to disperse the birds, as if it was a consolation to them.
I don’t know when it started, but a strange small monster grew in the wheat field. The Tribal Prophet learnt from the Divine Revelation that they were called [Barnyard Grass Monsters].
The barnyard grass monsters were born from the weeds and were slimmer than worms. Individually, a barnyard grass monster was no different from an ordinary weed, except that it could twist its body and press down on the grass around it in order to fight for more sunlight and soil nutrients.
But once this kind of weeds monster more, they will be close to each other group.
In the dead of night, the weed monster blades twist around each other. They weave a huge web across the ground, strangling other plants around them and taking over large areas of soil and overhead sunlight.
They are also good at camouflage.
They look more and more like wheat. They sneak into wheat fields and strangle the wheat, replacing it for the care of the farmers.
It became harder and harder for the Bright Moon tribe to tell which was the weed monster and which was the wheat.
The angry little tribesmen used all sorts of methods, burning, flooding, burying, trying to uproot this grass monster.
They did get rid of large swaths of the weeds. But these little monsters have long been all over the island, in the crevices of the rocks, on the beach, in the water, in the trees …… Unless the whole island is burned to ashes, they will not die out at all.
The islanders are powerless against such small monsters.
And it was only then that the Bright Moon Tribe found out that the seeds of the barnyard grass monsters were brought up to the island by flocks of birds. These barnyard grass monsters didn’t have any natural enemies here at all, so they kept growing and quickly metamorphosed into the current dominant family.
The God of Brightness gave the Prophet a revelation: go to the sea and find a new land.
However, only after stepping into the ocean, the Bright Moon Tribe was blocked by the East Sea Clan’s water blockade.
The Mingyue tribe can only build a kind of simple wooden row, by the East Sea Clan’s canoe in speed and flexibility completely suppressed. The underwater sea monsters watched intently, making the Mingyue Tribe not dare to go into the water, so they had to return to the land.
The two bullied islanders once again prayed to the gods for favours, hoping to get rid of the disaster.
The Bright God could not bear the suffering of the little tribesmen and once again sent down a miracle.
Using a treasure, He made a special magic potion.
This magic potion transformed the rats on the island into [Crazy Lemmings], which launched a frenzied attack on the barnyard monsters, gnawing on everything within sight.
Facing the hunting of the mad lemmings, the barnyard grass monsters were powerless.
This time, they were finally dealt a devastating blow and were eaten by the rats and turned into faeces, never to return to life.
The little people of the Bright Moon Tribe were extremely cheered when they saw the victory of the rats.
However, the good times didn’t last long.
While the barnyard grass monsters all over the island were cleared out, the mad lemmings didn’t stop, and they began to nibble on other plants. Whether it was wheat, weeds or coconut trees, the rats ate them all.
The Bright Moon Tribe watched as the [Barnyard Grass Monster] was replaced by the [Crazy Lemmings], and they remained helpless.
The rats were more difficult to deal with than the barnyard grass monsters, they moved quickly and could burrow and hide, they could even swim and dive.
When their numbers were small, the crazy lemmings would hide when they encountered people. Once their numbers grew, they were no longer afraid to make a show of themselves, even entering tribal houses to grab food.
As the population grew, so did the appetite of the mad lemmings.
Finally, the day came.
The rats began to hunt the islanders on a large scale.
Faced with a life and death crisis, the Bright Moon tribe also exploded with unprecedented courage and ruthlessness. They took wooden spears and stones and killed one batch of rats after another.
Unfortunately, people would get scared and tired, and there would be one less to die for.
The rats, however, were an unending source.
They were far more fertile than humans, transformed by magic potions to the point of madness and tirelessness. The dead rats become food for the other rats, the basis for the next generation to be born, and they have no burden to eat each other.
The humans were driven step by step by the rats to the statue of the god Ming on the mountain.
The gods were furious.
Lightning and a hurricane were sent down, and the flames and winds caused by the lightning destroyed the rats on the mountain. The corpses, however, would not go to waste and became a meal for the other mad lemmings.
This hardy critter relied on utter madness and the ability to reproduce super fast against the greatness of the gods.
At one point, the gods could no longer send down lightning bolts.
The bright god was tired.
The countless numbers of mad lemmings finally rushed up the mountain, completely drowning the last of the humans and the idols.
The time had come for the Akagami, who had lost all his followers, to fall.
……
After reading the history of Mingyue Island’s demise, Lu Yao’s first feeling was outrageous.
The Mingyue Tribe was outrageous.
This player called Ming Shen was also outrageous.
The downfall of Ming Moon Island showed the wrong way of operation of a Divine player.
Overprotecting the believers would not only consume much of the player’s faith out of thin air, it would also intensify the believers’ dependence on the gods.
Most of the villains of the Tribal Era were of low intelligence, so Lu Yao wasn’t surprised by their tasty and lazy behaviour. When the Garlic Tribe hadn’t been hammered before, they had also laid down one by one.
The core problem lay in the fact that the player, Ming Shen, had a problem with his thoughts.
Lu Yao has now worked out a set of operational ideas: god players need to make use of faith to reasonably use miracles to boost the civilisation process at critical moments, and usually keep a certain distance from believers.
This not only allowed the believers to learn to be self-reliant, but also gave the player more room for manoeuvre.
The opening conditions of Mingyue Island are very good. If the Bright God can create some natural disasters in the right amount to exert pressure, then the small people on the island will naturally feel the existential crisis naturally.
They would learn to build stronger houses to shelter from the wind and rain.
They would learn to farm or raise fish for a more stable food source.
They would have studied the art of shipbuilding, and with ships to navigate, they would have a way of knowing the outside world.
These were all steps in the right direction.
However, Ming Shen did not have the patience to wait and chose the most wrong path.
He used the [Broken Magic Pill Crucible] to create magic pills, got mad lemmings to deal with barnyard grass monsters, and was finally turned back by the mad lemmings, resulting in the loss of the people and the land……. Throughout the entire process, the Bright Moon Tribe didn’t have a single role to play, and the giant babies like that would only demand it from the gods.
It is really ironic that the gods lost to the monsters they created.
Lu Yao suddenly thought.
If, the Barnyard Monster and the Mad Lemming entered the Garlic Tribe, could it be solved?
Isabelle replied, “My lord, the area where the Garlic Tribe is located, the farmers have learnt how to deal with the weeds.”
“Worms will often go and nibble on the grain in the farmland, and the worms will in turn be hunted by birds of prey, and the mice are food for all kinds of animals in the forest……. It won’t be as closed off as it is here. The order over there is very normal.”
Lu Yao said in his heart that it was also true.
The Garlic Tribe’s subjective initiative and responsiveness were not comparable to the small people living at snail’s pace on Mingyue Island.
Over there, they faced the threat of the Forest Tribe in the opening, and had come and gone with the Donghe Tribe, Salt Pond Tribe, Donghai Clan and even quite a few monsters, so it could be said that they were treading on thin ice along the way.
Human muscle and toughness, that are once and for all hard battles to fight out.
