The Simulator Chapter 85 - LiddRead

The Simulator Chapter 85

The winds of soya have swept across the Western Continent, making tribal agriculture strong once more.

The number of farmers is also growing, and the profession is attracting more villains to join.

A simple tip appeared on the screen, mixed in with the Meat, Eggs and Milk discovery, appearing less noticeable.
Lu Yao almost ignored this one.
When he glanced at it, his finger holding the mouse shook.
[The Garlic Tribe has established its first city: Salt City.]
Lu Yao was really surprised.
The first city built by the tribe was not in the headquarters, but the settlement located in the western Salt Pond.
He switched his viewpoint to the sky above Salt Pond.

Lu Yao hadn’t paid attention to this place for a while, and now the Salt Pond had changed drastically.
A ring of low walls made of stone surrounded the city, and in the centre was a tic-tac-toe shaped street, which was lined with sparse houses built of wood and stone.
The appearance of the houses was no different from the Garlic Tribe headquarters, but the difference was that the houses here had a clear social division of the city.
Apart from the residential houses, the houses here were hung with a flag on which various designs were drawn to represent the functions of these houses.
The flag with the hammer on it represents the blacksmith’s house, which is used to make and sell all kinds of metal tools or weaponry.
The flag with what looks like sand on it represents the salt shop, a local speciality.

The one with ears of wheat on the flag represents a shop that sells grain.
If the flag is a dress, it is a clothing shop.
The flag with a ceramic cup on it is a hotel.
Those with steaming meat and cakes on the flag were eating establishments offering ready-to-eat food.
Though these goods and shops were rudimentary and basic, this was already a reflection of a further socialised division of labour.
Merchants no longer continued to sell along the streets, and many of them worked in shops. Trade in goods became an integral part of people’s daily lives.
With the birth of Salt City, further details are available in the Population section in the upper right corner of the game interface.
Population: 22, 129
The [Salt City: 2, 314] sign appeared at the bottom.

Lu Yao searched around Salt City for a while and actually found the Shrine.
The name [Salt City Shrine] appeared above it, and its size and scale were modelled after the Headquarters Shrine. Other than the fact that the exterior was made of grey stone and not pure white all over, there was no difference.
Lu Yao clicked on the temple and found that it also had its own idol inside, and behind it, there was also the Long Steps of Ascending God with the vague Temple of the Gods.
The [Sacrifice] and [Gift] slots, the avatars of the two Apostles, these were all there. Next to it was a tiny little shrine icon that when clicked would jump to the initial shrine of the Garlic Tribe’s headquarters.
From Lu Yao’s perspective, the Salt City Shrine could also be operated.
This indicated that the shrines could be built in different cities and associated with each other.
Lu Yao couldn’t help but think: wouldn’t this be a portal?
If one wanted to send an Apostle to a certain city, one would only need to pass through the God’s Temple and use the real world as a stepping stone to quickly reach both cities.
In practice, Lu Yao found that this was more convenient than he thought.

Simply by sending Isabelle into the Divine Temple, she would be able to travel swiftly between Salt City and the Horde’s main camp through the Divine Temple Symbol.
The city had already won too much just from the construction of this temple that came with its own apostle descent. The process of civilisation has brought convenience and enhancement as far as the eye can see.
As the earliest city in the Pixel World, Salt City’s management was really rudimentary, with only one mayor and one commander.
The mayor was one of the villains Lu Yao remembers, Fishing Company.
Fishery Lian was now 34 years old, having gone from being a youthful teenager to a man of his age. His rank had also reached LV5, and his shipbuilding skill had become LV2, with an all-round improvement.
He had become famous at a young age, building paddle sailing ships in his teens, and had been given high hopes by Lu Yao. Unfortunately, he never invented a new type of boat in the years that followed.
After Fishing Company became the leader of the tribe, he could no longer let his imagination fly by the river like he used to do in the past.

There were always incidents in the tribe: clashes broke out between fishermen and merchants, fights between spectators at the colosseum, drunkenness and trouble, and business disputes …… which were all still visible to Lu Yao.
The fishing company had been tired of constantly dealing with these problems.
Now that he was able to jump out of the Garlic Tribe headquarters and take charge of Salt City, Lu Yao felt that it was a good thing.
Compared to the Garlic Tribe headquarters, which had a large population and fixed customs, Salt City was a young city. It had gone through destruction and reconstruction, and it was an immigrant city, so there weren’t that many rules and regulations.
In addition to the humans of the Garlic Tribe, there were also many cave monsters, corrupted people, grassland savages, and wandering savages in Salt City.
The origin of each tribe is different.

The cave monsters gradually migrated out from the underground caves, they were the descendants of humans from the previous era, and after hiding underground, they dispersed into many small groups.
Under the guidance of the sorcerer Moromi, some of the cave monsters gradually relocated out of the underground and integrated into the surface life.
The newly joined cave monsters were unwilling to move too far away from the mountains, so they basically chose to live in Salt City. As time passed, the number of this group slowly increased.
The Corruptors were originally soldiers built by the Blood Knights.
It was ironic to say the least. Blood Knight Nevid was an iron-blooded toolman who carried out orders, yet quite a few of the Corruptors he created from corpses and salt possessed normal intelligence.
The Corruptors are somewhat like zombies in that they don’t die easily. However they need to eat flesh and salt to replenish their bodies that will slowly decay and have certain food needs.
Their role near the salt pools was that of professional soldiers, patrolling tirelessly every day.
When not entering the [Black Abyss] and carrying out missions, the Blood Knight would continue his mission: training the Corruptors.
Therefore, the total number of these Corruptors was only 12, but the route of the elite soldiers was taken.

The weakest Corruptor had now reached LV18, and the strongest one had even reached LV21, and his name had changed from Corruptor to [Corruption Guard].
The image of the Corrupted Guard had also become even more robust, larger than the surrounding Corruptors by a circle, turning it into a small blue giant that stood out from the rest.
Lu Yao selected this new unit.
……
[Corrupted Guard LV21] Salt Gale
Life: 385/385
Mana: 98/98
Damage: 20
Defence: 17
Speed: 12
[Stubborn LV10
Has a certain probability of being unaffected by spells.
[Rebirth LV10]
After death, if the body is not completely destroyed, there is a certain probability of resurrection.
[Berserk]
Gains extra speed and damage when taking damage.
……
The Corrupted Guard’s ability was plain, Lu Yao was quite fond of [Berserk].
As a soldier guarding a city, this ability to respond quickly was useful.

In addition, Salt Gale was also the [Commander] of Salt City, and after being trained by the Blood Knights, he led the Corruptors to take up the work of policing and defending the city.
Lu Yao observed that the [Corrupted Guards] had names, while the low-level Corruptors did not have names.
Following his various experiences since coming into contact with the Simulator, he came to an inference.
To a Transcendent Power, a name was a privilege.
Having a name meant that this individual belonged to the elite class and could distinguish itself from other ordinary groups. Similar to a small boss monster.
To take it a step further would be an exclusive title.
For example, Lu Yao’s three major battle powers each had their own title: Isabelle was the [Sword of the Forest], Nevid was the [Blood Knight], and Deep Sea Lord Gur was the [Scourge of the Spiny Crown].
Of the heavyweight Bosses defeated previously, only Serti, who was in the Abyss, was able to have the exclusive name of [Earl of Apocalypse].

Lu Yao carefully reviewed and found that the gods also seemed to fit this title formula.
New players, or trainee gods, were given their own names. However, it was really only used for believers to facilitate their chanting, addressing and understanding.
It was only after entering the Hall of Gods that they could be called [Gods].
Further up the hierarchy were the [Title Gods], known as [Whistle Blowers] and [Flayers].
Higher up was the [Lord God], with more symbolic and conceptual names, such as [God of Darkness] and [God of Forests].
……
Lu Yao pulled his attention back to the races of YC citizens.
The Corruptors patrolled the city on a daily basis, ensuring order.
The Prairie Savages, on the other hand, came from the grasslands of the Eastern Continent.
After being subdued by Isabelle, the Prairie Savages followed the paddle sailing ships to Salt City one after another and reported for duty. They were mainly engaged in animal husbandry, raising horses, cows and dogs in the neighbourhood, which was the Prairie Savage’s old profession.
Thanks to the addition and labour of these professional ranchers, the pastures around Salt Pond flourished, and the Garlic Tribe’s cattle and horses were largely produced here.
Lastly, there are the Wandering Savages.

This group usually lives in the wild. However, the wandering savages were getting fewer and fewer nowadays, they had either joined the tribes or hid in the fringes of the less travelled areas.
What Lu Yao cared about was.

After the fusion and reproduction of multiple races, with the addition of meat, eggs and milk, a brand new hybrid race was actually born.
[Salt Race].
